About Us

The UGC has implemented various mechanisms to address the issues and concerns of different stakeholders. Previously, the lack of a unified system led to stakeholders submitting multiple complaints or grievances across various channels, which slowed the resolution process and exacerbated their concerns. Resolving grievances related to institutional entities has always been a top priority for the University Grants Commission. To improve this, the UGC leveraged advancements in ICT and introduced the "e-Samadhan Online Grievance Registering System." This digital platform enables stakeholders to submit grievances, feedback, or queries in a centralized manner and ensures a timely resolution process.

To streamline the grievance redressal mechanisms for stakeholders, the UGC has consolidated its existing portals and helplines—excluding the Anti-Ragging Helpline—and introduced a new portal, "UGC e-Samadhaan: A Step Forward in Service to Stakeholders." This single-window system allows all stakeholders to register their complaints and grievances anytime, 24/7, with just a click. Additionally, a toll-free number, 1800-111-656, will be available on the UGC website around the clock for stakeholders to report any issues they encounter.

Users can register a grievance by following a straightforward procedure via email or by calling the toll-free number. Once the complaint is recorded, a Grievance ID will be assigned and automatically reflected in the concerned Nodal Officer of HEI or UGC bureau head's account. The assigned Nodal Officer/Bureau is responsible for resolving the issue within the specified timeframe as outlined below:
